Will This Bait Help Congress Win?
Luring people with gas connections, promising drinking water facilities, new roads, bus shelters and school buildings has become the main agenda of Congress in state. But, will this help them win the 18 constituencies scheduled for by-polls?
By just talking about the development done by them in the last three years, Congress received a blow in previous by-polls. As they scored no seat then, Kiran Kumar is now resorting to several schemes for those constituencies. Though Gas connection scheme 'Deepam' is promised for the whole state, party-workers will start it first in those 18 constituencies.
To barricade Jagan from wooing minority vote-banks, these schemes will be first started in their areas only. On the other hand, to satisfy his party people, Kiran is granting mini-power projects to leaders from those districts. Analysts say that YSR too wooed the voters in the same way in 2009 to make them re-elect Congress to power. Let us see how the strategy works.
